Although I believe no one will be watching or reading, I am doing this for my own sake of recording my season's plays. I will bet on a 1-4 unit scale, using 5dimes as the site of choice with -110 juice (unless noted) The NBA is the only sport I cap primarily on my own, with a win percentage of about 53.5% last season based on a limited number of plays. I hope to hit just over 54% for the season and hopefully end in the positive. I will try to be selective about most cards, but I do have a tendency to fall in love with too many plays. Memphis +11.5 4 units 1ST BIG PLAY (Shane Battier missing this game is a much bigger deal than anyone is making it out to be, Aaron Brooks, a decent contributor off the bench is also not going to play, Houston usually doesn't blow teams out, Memphis is more athletic than ever before, Houston struggled with up-tempo teams, as Yao gets caught trying to sprint back on defense and therefore becomes quite winded and has to be taken out of the game, McGrady is still not 100% but hasn't been for years...just think Houston wins but not by double digits)

just bought back all of my Memphis action, after seeing the solid posters around here seemingly in agreement that the Grizz should get their asses whooped by 20+... so a -.4 to begin the night...better than a -4 i guess...rest of the card says the same...

So after just two days of plays, I needed to take the day off (plus I was at work all day), and review where I was going wrong, as I did not get off to the start that I wanted. The results of 10/29/08 were not good:

And had I played my Memphis +11.5 I would have ended up even...just goes to show that you can't always let other solid cappers sway your gut feeling...would rather lose on my own then change my opinion b/c it's not the general consensus...so for the year so far:

Gotta already try to slowly grind back to even...just gotta take it one day/one play at a time....

well today went a lot better.... 4-1, which i will take every time, with the only loss being the Nets...wish i woulda posted THIS card in the main forum, but I am happy with my capping today....

should start taking dogs for just the first half, as Thunder stayed with Indiana for 46+ minutes...unfortunately, the game is 48 minutes long, and they came up short...cashed my bigger wager, but the str8 win woulda been nice...Boston under looks solid, as does the Nets wager (was gonna make it more but backed up on it)...Portland under is gonna be close, and Suns off to a very slow start...my have a 2nd half play, but probably not...feeling better now that I have gotten my feet wet and want to find my rhythm...

and IN the portland game, it looks like the under is lost...teams had to combine to score something like 13 pts in under 2 minutes, and thats exactly what has happened...oh well I feel like i was on the right side, just not meant to be...that first Quarter of a combined 64 pts really made it difficult...almost pulled it out, but gonna take the loss
